Congratulations Rani and Adam!
Two former Hakoah greats, Rani Rimmer and Adam Joseph were recently awarded joint runners up in the 2015 Maccabi Administrator Awards.
Both Rani and Adam played at Maccabi Hakoah for many years, and represented Australia at the Maccabiah games once and three times respectively. Following their retirement in 2013, they both turned their focus to administration, where their goal is to provide players from all ages with the opportunity to play football at an elite level within the Eastern Suburbs and Hakoah community.
Rani’s father, Eli, was also a long time player for Maccabi and can still be found in the stands as a supporter and playing on Thursdays with the Grand Old Masters, who just the other week won the Bangkok Masters tournament. Adam’s brother Daniel was also a top player for Maccabi and attended the Maccabiah, and Adam’s 3-year old son Gerry is a player of the future!
In their role as players and now administration, both Rani and Adam have been an integral part of the development of Maccabi Hakoah FC playing in the National premier League 2 as Sydney Hakoah East FC. They both took on different roles, with Adam driving the media strategy, which saw the Jewish News win the Football NSW state league 1 media award in 2014 and coverage across a variety of local and national media, as well as a strong social media presence.
Rani took the role of helping to bring young community players to the club while also driving the sponsorship strategy to see over 20 private and corporate sponsors on the books, which is an incredible achievement for any club at any level. Aside from providing financial support, this has the added benefit of increasing community engagement across all stakeholders.
Both Rani and Adam are extremely excited about the future of Sydney Hakoah East FC, and look forward to remaining an integral part of the club for years to come.
