Jordi Swibel gets call up for FFA Cup

Jordi Swibel Gets Call Up

Hakoah FC youngster Jordi Swibel has been called up to the 1st grade squad for their FFA Cup Round 5 encounter against Picton Rangers FC this week.

Jordi has been in fine form for the U18’s this season playing in a dual role as #10 or #9 as required by his coaches Mark Gannon and Jason Conroy.

He is the team’s leading scorer and is second top scorer in the National Premier League bagging six goals in six matches to go along with his four goals in the pre-season.

The U18’s are currently undefeated with four wins and two draws and sit second on the ladder behind this week ends opponents Sutherland Sharks.

Club TD & Head Coach, Mark Robertson, rewarded Jordi for his strong early season performances with selection in the 1st team alongside his team mate Connor Shaddock who was also included in the FFA Cup squad.

Jordi was a member of the Championship winning Hakoah U13 side in 2011 coached by Barry Walker and last year as an U16’s player made nine appearances for the Hakoah U18’s as they won the NPL2 Premiership and finished as runners up in the Grand Final. This clearly demonstrates the wonderful development pathway that Hakoah FC can offer its players. Jordi is also a third generation player at the club following in the footsteps of his grandfather Bob who played in the late 50’s and his father Mick who played over 400 1st grade matches for Hakoah-Maccabi spanning some 16 years from 1977-1993.
