Hakoah FC vs Northern Tigers FC | Saturday 6 March

1ST GRADE: 1-2

Hakoah 1sts opened their 2021 campaign with a heart breaking loss at North Turramurra.
Hakoah started with confidence and played solid football for the the first twenty minutes. They were duly rewarded mid way through the first half when Harry Jones squared to James Demetriou 25 yards out. “The Bazooka” took a touch and rifled a low shot into the corner of net, giving the keeper no chance.
Hakaoh held their lead for most of the second half. However two last gasp goal for the home team gave them maximum points.
In a tough, bruising match, all the Hakoah players were outstanding and they showed a tough streak and footballing skill which will serve them well this season.

U20: 5-2

Zlatko Arambasics Hakoah u20s start the season with an emphatic 5-2 win!

The first game of the season saw our 20s team travel to Northern Tigers. If last years games were to go by then another cracking game was on the cards.. It was Hakoah that came out with all players blazing, Starting with our back 5, GK – Daniel Solsky, Phillip Lapanaitis, Simon Kalinauskas Jett Heilig and Josh Fuchs. Our midfielders Pauli Arauilo, Jarrad Frack, wingers, Michael Vakis, Ben Fuchs and our front 2, Marco Arambasic and Zach Sapsford all contributed playing good football. Our first goal on the 6th min came from a corner with a well executed header by our centre back Simon. 5 minutes later Zac Sapsford assisted by Pauli made it 2 -0. Zach picked the ball up from just inside Tigers half, made a run then smashed the ball into the top right hand corner.
Zach’s brace would come in the 10m when he capitalised on a defensive error and blasted the ball past the Keeper 3-0 Hakoah. Hakoah’s 4th goal just before half time started in the middle by Ben Fuchs who switched the ball to Michael Vakis on the right wing and with a sublime cross found the head of Marco Arambasic who headed the ball home.

Half time: 4-0 Hakoah.

The second half would be a different affair with Northern Tigers finding a new lease of life and bringing the game to Hakoah. Northern Tigers scored two goals bringing it back to 4-2. Fenn Hodgson Yu, Dylan Garces Adam Strasser and Angel Barreto all came on and played there part. It would take Hakoah 4 minutes before full time when Pauli Araulio switched the ball to Michael Vakis who took on the defender and smashed the ball across the keeper and into the goal.
