Round 2 – Senior Match Reports

Hakoah FC vs Hills United | Saturday 6 March

1ST GRADE: 1-1

Hakoah 1sts earned a hard fought 1-1 draw against Hills United at Hensley in Round 2.
In wet and blustery conditions, Hills United started the match with confidence and found themselves 1-0 up after 20 minutes with a well worked goal. The scoreline would stay the same until half time.
In the second half, Hakoah came out firing and were soon dominating possession. Midfielders Yianni Spyrakis, Dom Cox and Jordy Koton combined well and James Demetriou and Juiz Lobo looked threatening.
Defender Connor Shaddock found himself upfield and picked out Bruno Mendes. Mendes calmly finished the chance and Hakoah were right back in the match.
Youngster Zach Sapsford was introduced into the match with 25 minutes remaining caused problems for Hills United down the right flank.
However, the scoreline was to remain 1-1, despite chances falling agonisingly close to Yianni Spyrakis and Bruno Menedes.
Hakoah would have to settle for the 1-1 draw and prepare for their round 3 match against Bonnyrigg FC.
