Chairman’s Welcome Letter – 2022

Message from Hakoah FC Chairman, Paul Heilig.

On behalf of the Hakoah FC board I would like to welcome all of our community to season 2022. The youth season is underway with three games under our belt. The SAP and Senior season is about to kick off and with this in mind we want to wish all involved a successful and fun season ahead.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors whose support is instrumental in us continuing to provide a quality and professional programme across all of our age groups. A special thanks to our platinum sponsor HSN Property Group, and our major sponsors Evolution Capital and Ray White Double Bay.

A warm welcome to all our new coaches, technical directors and managers who have joined in 2022. We are very fortunate to have professional and motivated coaches looking after all of our squads this season.

Unfortunately, we have had disrupted seasons for the last two years. We are all hoping that we can get through this season without any interruption and complete the competition. As always, we have set high goals for this year, including promotion to NPL 1 for both our Youth and Senior cohorts. Having said this, the more important goal is for all of our teams to play high-quality football week in week out, and for all of our players to grow and develop as both footballers and individuals during the course of the year.

I’m sure that many of you would have seen the news that the Hakoah White City development in Paddington is about to start. Completion of this amazing facility is anticipated for the end of 2023. Hakoah FC is looking forward to training and playing at this magnificent venue, and finally having our own home ground. We encourage all of our football community to consider joining the Hakoah Club.

Hensley has been out of commission while the pitch is being resurfaced. It looks like this will be completed in the next couple of weeks and we will be able to return to Hensley for training and for our home games. When we return to Hensley we would love to have as many supporters as possible attend our home games across all the age groups. Let’s turn Hensley into a fortress this year.

From a communication perspective we try to communicate in a quick and efficient manner to all our stakeholders. This includes our social media channels, Team App, direct mail, newsletters and our website. We encourage all of you to choose your media and stay connected throughout the year.

To all our players we wish you lots of success in the season ahead. It is important that you play hard and fair. It is also important that you respect your opposition, your teammates, your coaches and managers. You have been selected to play football at this high level and you should be very proud of this achievement, at the same time it is important be a good sportsman because this is at the core of our club values and culture. If you aspire to be a professional you need to behave like a professional both on and off the pitch.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteer board members and managers who work continually throughout the year to ensure that the club runs as professionally and as smoothly as possible. We are fortunate to have a group of individuals with complementary skill sets that are required to run a semiprofessional football club.

On behalf of the Board, I wish all of you a wonderful season filled with positive experiences and memories for a lifetime.
